The supermodel was subpoenaed to testify in a court in The Hague to answer questions about whether she was given a 'blood diamond' by former Liberian dictator Charles Taylor, who is on trial for his alleged role in the civil war in Sierra Leone, accused of arming rebels in return for illegally mined diamonds.
The prosecution in the Hague alleges the diamond given to Campbell was among those Taylor had obtained from Sierra Leone rebels to sell or exchange for weapons”.
